Problem
A multi-pump booster package cycles frequently, hunts around the pressure setpoint, and stages pumps unnecessarily as building demand changes.
Assessment
RMS compares pressure-transducer output with a known reference, reviews VFD command and feedback behavior, checks lead-lag sequencing, and looks at hydraulic contributors such as pressure tanks and check valves.
Service Scope
- Compare pressure-transducer output with a known reference
- Review VFD command, feedback, and fault behavior
- Inspect check-valve operation and pressure-tank condition where applicable
- Verify lead-lag sequencing and pump staging
- Test operation at low, normal, and higher demand conditions
Technical Details
- Domestic-water booster pressure instability
- VFD command, feedback, fault, and staging behavior
- Pressure-transducer reference comparison
- Check-valve and pressure-tank condition where applicable
Return-to-Service Standard
The return-to-service target is stable pressure without excessive hunting, short cycling, or unnecessary staging as demand changes.
